Welcome to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Since its establishment, UTM has offered many excellent academic programs especially in the area of Science, Engineering and Technology. As of August 2010, a total of 138,634 students have graduated from UTM in various fields of study. In addition, UTM centers of excellence have contributed significantly in research and development (R&D), and commercialization of new technologies in Malaysia.

In the current borderless and electronically-linked world, possession of global knowledge seems inevitable. For such purpose, UTM has embarked on a special program called Summer School. It has been introduced, among others, to provide opportunities especially for international students to learn and experience Malaysian cultural diversity, to explore the tropical rainforest and, flora and fauna. Various courses have been developed to allow students to acquire knowledge, share views and improve their understanding on some uniquely-designed and globally relevant subjects. All the courses are conducted by qualified and experienced lecturers and/or professionals. Students who are adventurous will also have the opportunity to have hands-on experience by participating in excursions or tours to different places in Malaysia and may even explore one of the world's oldest rainforests which is said to be about 240 million years old.

The Summer School Program also provides an avenue for students around the globe to get together to exchange ideas and gain insights, share experience and discover new knowledge, explore possibilities and also establish network. In 2010, there were a total of 235 students from all over the world who participated in this program.

With various courses running throughout the summer months, I hope many would grab this opportunity to come to UTM and be part of the excitement. I sincerely hope to see you in UTM to enjoy our Summer School Program.

Best wishes
