Thank you for visiting the website of UTMSPACE. UTMSPACE has been in operation for more than fifteen years as an entity within the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). UTM is renowned for being at the forefront of engineering and technological expertise and advancement. Being a premier university in Engineering and Technology discipline in Malaysia, UTM has a vast experience in tertiary education, with qualified and experienced lecturers, and world-class facilities.
UTMSPACE offers life-long education programmes that contribute towards the development of the nation’s human capital. We always strive to achieve our vision and mission to be the centre of excellence in providing quality educational services based on science and technology through a flexible and customer-friendly learning mode
UTMSPACE is a pioneer in continuing education and lifelong learning in the country. Our Part-time Undergraduate Programmes (PSM) employs the face-to-face learning method at 16 learning centres in selected cities throughout the country. The modules offered are exactly the same with the University’s mainstream programmes, but have been structured to be flexible to accommodate the working adults. Since 1997, we have successfully produced more than 9000 graduates in various fields. Our programmes are accredited by professional bodies in Malaysia such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Planners, the Board of Land Surveyors and the Board of Architects Malaysia.
Apart from the Part-time Undergraduate Programmes, UTMSPACE also offers Professional Development Programmes consisting of Short Courses and Workshops, In-House trainings, Conferences/Seminars and Professional Certificates that have been specifically designed to meet the needs of the industry. All programmes offered are designed and focused on the technical and soft skill training.
UTMSPACE offers the Intensive English Course (IEC) for both the international undergraduates and postgraduates. This course is provided by the English Language and Foundation Unit. This unit also designs, manages and implements courses for business executives, working professionals and others who wish to improve their English language skills.
To enhance the employability of UTM graduates, UTMSPACE offers the UTM Degree++ programme designed specifically for final year undergraduates of UTM. It offers generic skill such as soft skills and technical skills as value-added courses to UTM graduates, giving them a competitive-edge as they venture into employment market. This will prepare them to be more dynamic, innovative, professional, competitive, confident and excellent at the workplace. Since its inception, it has received overwhelming response from the students with 8,828 participants in 2008.
For those who are currently working, UTMSPACE offers the Executive Diplomas programme with the collaboration of 16 Smart partners, targeting employees who may not have had the opportunity for normal academic programme. Currently, there are more than 65 executive diploma and specialist diploma programmes in various fields to choose from. The working experience as well as the academic input and training delivered by both the university and its industry partners are a great combination to assure maximum advantage to the employees in tackling industry needs.
As part of its corporate social responsibility for human capital development in Malaysia, UTMSPACE has added the Online Courseware to its list of products. The Online courseware was developed according to specific modules that offers flexible learning method for the public and provides a new approach to digital learning mode.
To those who wants to learn and experience the Malaysian arts and customs, UTMSPACE offers the UTMSPACE Summer Course. The programme provides opportunities especially for international students to learn and experience the arts and customs in a Malaysian multicultural society, Malaysian architecture, and others.
